The 2019 Gately Rotary Wine Auction was an overwhelming success with R700 000 being raised on the night. It was by far the most successful wine auction night and broke all the previous collection records.
The event was attended by over 200 patrons and this year it was held at The Venue at Hemingways. The highest selling lot fetched R50 000 and a total of 59 lots were on offer. The proceeds from the night will benefit a number of charities around East London.
As the Rotary Club of Gately, we would like to thank our sponsors and the greater East London community for opening their hearts and wallets to support those who are less fortunate.
Rotarians enjoyed an "on-location" lunch at the East London Aquarium yesterday where they listened to an informative talk by Steven Rheeder from the aquarium and also toured the facility. Thanks to the SaPs who joined us as well as the Rotaractors. A big thanks to club President Jacqui Mauer and Rtn Lauren Brady for organising.
